A word from Mike:

The first road trip our team learned a lot. This was our first real
challenge this season and opened everyone’s eyes to the caliber of hockey we should be
playing at. The one thing Lindenwood did that we didn’t do this weekend was
score on there good chances. I felt we had more quality chances than they
did but just could put the puck away. The first road trip is always a good team
bonding experience and a good learning opportunity.

I started playing the game of hockey around 5 years old on the frozen lakes
of Austria with my dad and 2 brothers. I played my minor hockey in Penticton. I
played one year of midgets then played for the Summerland Sting of the KIJHL
at the age of 16 for 2 years. I then played the next 2 years up and down with
the Penticton Vee’s of the BCHL and with the Nelson Leafs. I then received an
Email from Cyclone hockey my 20 year old year and went to visit the school that
summer and I was sold. The school was great and the guys on the team made me feel
welcome and a part of the school already. I love the fast pass and toughness
of the game. There is no other sport like it. Its the most exciting sport in
the world and I am very fortunate to have played this great game for as long as
I have.

I have a full coarse load this semester, should be a tough one even
though I’m only taking 14 credits. I think the most interesting class and probably
the most challenging is EM 324 (mechanics). We will be investigating the
breaking points of different materials and calculating the maximum force and area
where they will fail. I’m really looking forward to the season. Looks like we have
some good new recruits coming in, looks like some solid D. Looking forward
to see who I will be playing with as well since both my line mates graduated. I
think we will have an excellent team and I can’t wait to get at it this
year.
